What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer, and has many benefits.
This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage and stretch marks.
What microdermabrasion can do?

Microdermabrasion helps to thicken your collagen, which results in a younger looking complexion. Collagen is a protein in your skin which is abundant when you’re a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin.
What is HIFU Treatment (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound)?
HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a non-surgical skin treatment which is used to tighten, smooth, and firm your skin. During the HIFU skin tightening treatment, HIFU energy quickly causes the treated tissue to warm up. This heat creates something called a thermal injury which tricks the body into repair mode, thus producing new collagen and elastin.
The treatment can target different depths of your skin, from the top layer down to the SMAS which is a mesh that lays over the top of your muscle, which results in tighter, firmer, and smoother skin.
When To See HIFU Results?
On average, full results are seen around three months after you’ve finished your course of HIFU. Some people may notice a subtle improvement a few days following the treatment, known as the ‘collagen contracture’ stage. Results are dependent on the individual’s own skin-repairing mechanism during which collagen production is stimulated and formed which can take several months. It is advisable to plan the HIFU treatment in advance of an event that you wish to see results in time as full results are not immediate. As with many medical-aesthetic treatments, lifestyle can have an impact on the results.
Some clients may see immediate initial improvements, however, the optimal time when clients will see lifting, tightening and firming is three months after treatment with gradual improvements noticed once the skin has had time to repair and produce new collagen and elastin which holds the structure of the skin. During this period, older collagen is replaced and the building process continues clients may even see improvements for up to six months after the final procedure.
HIFU Skin Tightening Side Effects?
HIFU face lift is considered a safe treatment when performed by a qualified and fully trained practitioner.
One of the reasons why the HIFU facial is so popular at our Toronto Beauty Spot Med Spa is that you can carry on your usual activities immediately after your HIFU treatment. You may have some pinkness or redness and light swelling of the tissue of your facial skin immediately after, but this usually subsides quickly; our clients are happy to go back to work or to socialize immediately after with the application of tinted sunscreen if required.
You may have some light tingling in the area treated, this usually subsides quite quickly but it has been reported to last for a few weeks. Rare side effects include temporary numbing in the area which usually subsides after a few days, and bruising. During a consultation, before you decide upon any treatments, your practitioner should discuss both the benefits of the treatment and any possible side effects with you.
Does HIFU Help With Sagging Skin?
HIFU is a noninvasive skin tightening procedure that is ideal for facial rejuvenation. It can tighten sagging skin, especially facial and neck skin, redefine your features (such as your jawline), smooth your skin, and reduce your wrinkles. HIFU can be used on the face, neck, decolletage, and body.
At What Age Should I Get the HIFU Treatment?
We wouldn’t recommend it to anybody younger than 18 to get the high-intensity focused ultrasound, HIFU procedure. Most of our clients at HIFU are in their fourth decade and are beginning to reveal those signs of skin ageing. For purposes of very advanced signs, people combine the procedure with others because HIFU might not tackle everything. About skin tightening, though, HIFU is most likely to be unnecessary for younger skin but may be performed if there is any sign, such as crepey skin over the abdomen.
Are HIFU Ultrasound Waves Painful?
There can be some discomfort during the treatment but it is usually tolerated well. You may decide to take over-the-counter pain medication prior to the treatment for additional comfort. During the treatment, you may feel tingling, warmth and/or heat as the treatment pulses are applied.
You can request your aesthetician before the treatment for a numbing cream to be applied.

What is Glass Skin Korean Oxygen Treatment?
Exclusively offered at Toronto Beauty Spot, an oxygen glass facial is a revolutionary skin treatment known to be used by celebrities to achieve glassy and glowing skin. This unique treatment uses a one of a kind oxygen dome to generate a continuous flow of highly concentrated 90% pure oxygen under hyperbaric pressure, as well as the use anion therapy to regenerate skin cells, reduce acne-causing bacteria, rebalance the skin’s pH level, promote skin intake of nutrients, brighten and improve the signs of aging.
An oxygen glass facial treatment is a relaxing, luxurious four step process with the end goal of clean, smooth glowing skin. What is micro needling?
Micro needling, also called percutaneous collagen induction therapy, is performed using a handheld, drum- or pen-shaped device, electrically powered, with tiny needles that make precise, microscopic punctures in the skin. These “micro-injuries” do not leave scars; they work by helping to stimulate the skin to repair itself naturally through a process called dermal remodeling.
This process starts with inflammation, which stimulates the skin to produce new collagen (the elastic fibers that make skin tight, smooth, and youthful). Collagen levels in the skin decline as we age, and new collagen can be produced when the skin is in repair mode.
Three to five monthly or biweekly treatments are recommended to achieve desired results. Through a series of sessions, micro needling can increase elastic skin fibers. Micro needling also helps the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin), which naturally thins with age, become thicker and tauter.
What conditions does micro needling treat?
Microneedling is used to treat a variety of skin conditions that cause depressions in the skin such as acne scarring, surgical scars, other scars, burns, enlarged pores, wrinkles, and stretch marks. (The procedure is less effective on deep, narrow “ice-pick” acne scars than on broader ones.)
Micro needling does not deliver heat to the skin like lasers do. As a result, people who have melasma (dark patches of skin) and hyperpigmentation (dark spots on the skin) can undergo micro needling without the risk of worsening pigmentation problems. (Darker skin is susceptible to pigmentation changes as a post-inflammatory response.)
Micro needling is sometimes used to help topical skin treatments to penetrate the skin more effectively.
What are the side effects of microneedling?
There are a few temporary side effects to be aware of with microneedling. The procedure causes short-term swelling, redness, and skin flaking, which can last for a few days. Most people can return to wearing regular makeup within a day of treatment. Skin will be more sun-sensitive after treatment, so sunscreen is also advised.
Micro needling may worsen active breakouts, so people with active inflammatory acne or oral herpes should not be treated with micro needling until the lesions have cleared. Those with a history of oral herpes may be prescribed an oral antiviral medication for one week following treatment because the procedure may stimulate a new cold sore.

What is Micro channeling?
Similar to micro needling, micro channeling is a non-invasive procedure designed to stimulate your body’s natural ability to generate collagen, elastin and other building blocks of healthy skin. By stimulating the outermost layers of the skin, micro channeling can help your jump-start your body’s natural process. Increases in collagen and communication levels in the skin facilitate thicker, younger looking skin with minimal downtime.
Micro channeling is a popular treatment for acne scars, surgery scars and stretch marks. Scars improvement occurs by breaking down the old tissue and fostering the development of healthier skin. Micro channeling involves a 3-stage process:
Micro-needles create micro-channels – Precision micro-needles are tapped into the skin creating uniform micro-channels. A single pass over the face will create hundreds of thousands of micro-channels.

This reduced tissue damage results in reduced inflammation and substantially decreased discomfort for clients. Reduced inflammation means less downtime. Typical downtime after a micro channeling treatment is 60-90 minutes, compared to days of downtime with micro needling.
WHAT IS A BB GLOW TREATMENT?
A skin glow treatment is the latest trend in skin care technology. This method of skin care is already a popular treatment and only recently started to gain momentum in western culture. The BB Glow treatment uses laser technology to penetrate the deepest layers of the skin and also with micro needling.
The BB Glow is an extremely superficial treatment using micro needling at very shallow depths to infuse skin with nourishing ingredients and infuse the outer layer with pigment for semi-permanent foundation. You will need to repeat this treatment several times for optimum longevity.
